چکیده

Spendlove, Rex S. (California State Department of Public Health, Berkeley), Edwin H. Lennette, Charles O. Knight, and Jean N. Chin. Production in FL cells of infectious and potentially infectious reovirus. J. Bacteriol. 92:1036-1040. 1966.-A comparative study was made of the development in, and release from, FL cells of infectious and potentially infectious (chymotrypsin-activatable) reovirus (Lang strain). The latent period was shorter, the rate of synthesis was more rapid, and the total yield was more than 10-fold greater in potentially infectious virus as compared with infectious virus. Almost all of the potentially infectious virus, but only approximately one-third of the infectious virus, was released from the infected cells.

Poliovirus Particles do not Form in Preinfected Cells with Reovirus

Background and Aims: Inhibition of viral growth in coinfected cells with two different viruses has been described. This phenomenon known as viral interference can occur in several virus host systems such as interference of enterovirus infection on poliovirus vaccine strains. In this study we superinfected reovirus infected HeLa cells with poliovirus to determine if poliovirus can replicate in s...

Comparative investigations of infectious runting and stunting syndrome in vaccinated breeder chicks by inactivated reovirus and chicks from non-vaccinated breeders

Reoviruses are important pathogens responsible for poor growth performance and silent losses in the poultry industry. They are associated with many disease and syndromes such as malabsorption (runting and stunting syndrome), respiratory diseases and immunosuppression. Broiler birds are most susceptible to viral infections during the early post hatching period. Therefore, the transfer of materna...

Evaluation of IL-17 and IL-10 Production in Infectious Mononucleosis in EBV Patients

Epstein–Barr virus is primarily the cause of acute infectious mononucleosis and can also cause lymphoma and autoimmune diseases. Th17 cells, which are a unique subset of ThCD4+ cells, direct the infection toward inflammation through production of inflammatory cytokine IL-17. In contrast, Treg Foxp3 cells inhibit inflammation through secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10, leading to chro...

Protamine precipitation of two reovirus particle types from polluted waters.

Two forms of virus particle are released from reovirus-infected cell cultures, infectious reovirus and potentially infectious reovirus (PIV). PIV particle forms have a complete outer coat and are not infectious until the outer coat is altered or removed. The PIV concentration in polluted waters, however, has not been determined. Protamine sulfate precipitation, using 0.25% fetal bovine serum an...

Multiplicity reactivation of reovirus particles after exposure to ultraviolet light.

Bacteriol. 92:1422-1429. 1966.-Exposure of reovirus suspensions to moderate doses of ultraviolet light results in essentially exponential inactivation of infectivity to survivals of 10(-2) to 10(-3). With suspens...
